The Five Tibetans: Exercises For Energy, Vitality And Longevity

camel poseSource: Psychics Universe

The Five Tibetans are a series of exercises that contribute to greater energy, vitality and longevity. Sometimes referred to as The Five Tibetan Rites or The Five Rites, these exercises were originally presented in a 1939 book entitled The Eye of Revelation. Do them every day for a healthier life.

First Rite: Spinning

With arms outstretched, slowly spin from left to right. Take your time and do a few, eventually building up to 21 over time (listen to your body). Speed doesn’t matter; do what feels comfortable.

Second Rite: Leg Lifts

Lie on your back on a yoga mat or rug. Extend arms along sides, keeping hands flat, fingers together.

Raise your head slightly, with chin tucked into your chest. Now lift legs vertically with knees straight. Slowly lower both head and legs.

Breathe in as you lift and exhale as you lower. Do a few to start, and build up to 21.

Third Rite: Camel Pose

Kneel on the floor with knees under hips and toes flat. Your upper body should be erect. Place hands on the back of your thighs, just under the buttocks.

Tilt head forward and tuck chin against the chest. Next tilt your head and neck backwards, arching your spine and looking up.

Repeat, eventually working your way up to 21 over time.

Fourth Rite: Tabletop Pose

Sit on your mat with your legs extended outwards in front of you, even with hips. Feet should be flexed. Keep your upper body erect. Hands should be alongside hips, fingers pointed towards feet.

Now tuck your chin in towards your chest. Then tilt your head back, while bending your knees and pushing up to tabletop position.

Your torso should resemble a table, with arms and bent legs as table legs. Let your head gently rest backwards.

Repeat when you feel ready. Build up to 21.

Fifth Rite: Cobra and Down Dog

Start out on the floor with hands about 2 feet apart. Keeping your legs stretched out flat behind you, and your upper body raised like a cobra, let the spine arch down in a sagging position.

Next lift hips and buttocks up, pushing back and up on your toes to form an inverted “V” position. Also bring your head down towards your chest.

Gently lower yourself into a plank position then come back to the cobra pose.

Repeat the sequence, with a goal of 21 over time.

The Mirror Technique 2.0

look-in-the-mirrorBy: Dr. Joe Vitale / Source: Joe Vitale |Self Growth

One of the most powerful ways to transform your mind and body is something I learned four decades ago from the classic self-help book, The Magic of Believing, written in 1948 by Claude Bristol. It’s called The Mirror Technique.

I’ll explain the basic method to you, and then give you my breakthrough hi-tech add-on to it. With this new combined and upgraded approach, you’ll feel like you have superhuman powers.

Imagine what you would aim for if you had the power of a super hero. Let that roll around in your mind as you continue reading…

Bristol wrote an entire chapter on The Mirror Technique in his famous book (which is still in print today). This excerpt gives you a clear idea of how the method works:

“Many great orators, preachers, actors, and statesmen have used the mirror technique. According to Drew Pearson, Winston Churchill never made a speech of importance unless he made it before a mirror first. Pearson also declared that Woodrow Wilson employed the same technique.

It’s what I call a supercharging method of stepping up the speaker’s subconscious forces so that when he or she appears before an audience, those forces flow out also and affect the listeners.

By using the mirror in rehearsing the speech as you are going to deliver it, you are creating a picture of yourself, your words, the sound of your voice, and your sight of the audience, to which the immediate future is to bring reality. By looking into the mirror, you increase the mental vibrations by which the force and meaning of your words will quickly penetrate to your audience’s subconscious minds.

In short, you stand before a mirror big enough to see your face and torso, stare into your eyes, and then speak out loud about what you want to have, do, or be. You give yourself the pep talk of all time. You reprogram your mind with your voice and your own authority.

I was reminded of the technique while watching J. Edgar, the movie by Clint Eastwood about FBI director J. Edgar Hoover. There’s a scene where Hoover’s mother coaches him to realize he can dance by urging him to look into his mirror and tell himself he could do so.

Believe me, this works. When you first look into the mirror, you may cringe or feel weak. But when you stick with it, and truly command yourself, you can transform into a powerful Law of Attraction super being.

But let’s not stop there.

joevitaleNow, what could be better than The Mirror Technique?

Brace yourself.

During the recent making of my fourth album, titled The Healing Song, the band and I spontaneously created an original piece of music that is so engaging, it is virtually entrancing. It’s mesmerizing.

Just listening to it can put you into an altered state. I can’t explain how we actually created the music, as it feels like we were guided by Divine inspiration. Whatever the case, it is a riveting, mood altering track.

When we played the music back in the studio, famous drummer Joe Vitale — who has almost five decades of experience with rock and roll legends such as Neil Young and Joe Walsh — said the track wouldn’t allow any other sounds or instruments added to it.

Except one thing.

My voice.

“It wants you,” Joe told me.

At first I didn’t know what that meant. But that night, as I was driving home from a long day in the studio, I received even more Divine inspiration. I almost pulled off the freeway to write down my thoughts. But instead I turned on my iPhone and recorded the words coming to me.

When I went back into the studio, I told my music producer, Daniel Barrett, to cue up that mesmerizing track and turn on the microphone. I then recorded the most empowering commands of my entire hypnotic career.

These statements go beyond mere affirmations and feel-good self talk. These are truths about the almost supernatural power you have inside yourself to attract By-God miracles.

These commands move your attention from your little self to your all powerful big Self — yes, the Self with a capital S for Superhuman or Spiritual Human.

At the end of my spoken words, Daniel said, “Oh My God! That was phenomenal!”

With the original enchanting music and the empowering commands combined, I knew we had a track that could change lives. I knew it would be a stand-out on the new album.

But I wasn’t done.

I was inspired with one more step.

The morning I was to pick up drummer Joe Vitale from the airport, I told Nerissa how he is proof of a parallel universe. She was still half asleep and didn’t process what I said. She thought I was talking about some sort of mirror. I had to explain that since the other JV was coming, it was proof a mirror universe existed.

But her confusion led to a breakthrough idea.

I thought, “What if I created a mirror that you could look at yourself in, but that also had speakers and that empowering music track already in it?”

You could step up, look in the mirror, push play, and then listen to the most empowering commands of all time as the most entrancing music of all time riveted you on the spot.

This would combine the best of all self-help and self-improvement methods to truly re-wire your brain to attract and achieve amazing results.

And all you would have to do is look in the mirror!

Talk about easy!

Whew!

Right then and there, I knew this was a hi-tech improvement to Bristol’s famous Mirror Technique.

I knew I wanted “The Empowered Mirror” — the name I coined for it — right then and there.

When I told the idea to a couple of select friends, they said the same thing: “That’s brilliant! I want the mirror, too!”

I then did some in-depth Google searching but couldn’t find anything even close to my idea. I found some baby monitors that had mirrors and played soothing music, such as the Brica Day and Night Light Musical Mirror. That was for babies.

And I found a couple shower mirrors that could play your music via a wireless transmitter, which seemed complicated. And that was for in the shower.

Neither was what I wanted.

I wanted a portrait-sized mirror with built-in speakers and pre-programmed with my empowering music track. It might even have the capability to allow people to record their own commands, or to upload their own music. But my basic idea was to have a vanity mirror that could play Empowered!, the incredible track from my new album, The Healing Song.

What I needed was a manufacturer.

I then went and contacted the people behind the fitness equipment I love — the Nexersys — to ask their advice on how to create such a mirror. Terry Jones, developer of the Nexersys, is a genius at developing products and bringing them to market. I had interviewed him for my Hypnotic Gold subscribers, and knew he could point me in the right direction. So I told him my story.

Terry told me about the Alibaba site at http://www.alibaba.com, where I could post my need and manufacturers in China and other places around the globe could respond. I did just that. I received two dozen emails from people who didn’t know how to type or understand English. It was funny and frustrating.

But one woman in the pack of oddities seemed professional, persistent, and polite. I decided to wire her $120 to make a sample of what I had in mind. It took four weeks just to get the wire exactly right so h
er bank would accept the transfer. But you and I both know persistence is a key to success. I kept at it.

When her company finally made the prototype for me in China, and shipped it to me, I was disappointed. It was a clunky woman’s makeup compact case with a USB port and built-in speakers. I didn’t think people would want yet another heavy item to carry around. And the USP wasn’t as easy to use as it sounds to transfer music tracks. I decided to pass on the idea.

While there are still ideas I might play with — like creating an app that does what I want and plays the Empowered track for you — probably the best straight line to success is to simply suggest you go buy the album and transfer the Empowered! track wherever you want it. You could then play the track on your phone, or iPad, or any device you preferred. And you could look at yourself in the mirror as you did so.

Again, this is one of the most powerful tools you can use to transform yourself. Just look at yourself in the mirror and give yourself a pep talk as you listen to the music that inspires you the most. For me, the Empowered! song off my new album does the trick. But you can use whatever music makes your heart sing and your feet dance.

“Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?”

7 Crucial Survival Uses for Coconut Oil

coconut-oilBy: Alec Deacon / Source: Before It’s News

We’ve talked about a lot of multi-purpose and indispensable items for us, survivalists, from baking soda to lemons and olive oil. Here’s another one you might not have known to have some surprising benefits: coconut oil. In my opinion, it should be stored by every prepper out there. It has dozens of health and survival uses, and you wouldn’t want to be caught up without your coconut oil.

I’ve chosen to outline 7 of the many situations where you can use coconut oil for survival purposes. You should also read this book,The Coconut Oil Miracle, by Dr. Bruce Fife, to find everything about this product and why you should add it to your preparedness cache.

#1: Preventative treatment

Coconut oil has anti-fugal, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-viral and lots of other medical properties and is great as an everyday treatment and preventive measure for bacterial infections, influenza, herpes, measles, skin problems and sunburns, parasites, and I could go on and on and on. I’ve used it at home as a moisturizer for my cracked skin or as an antibiotic emollient.

#2: Energy boost

For those moments when you need to walk for miles, be awake for hours, deal with fatigue, you can keep your energy levels up with coconut oil. 1 tsp in the morning will naturally boost your energy and will last all day. Coconut oil is mostly made of MCFA’s (medium chain fatty acids) used by our bodies as fuel to produce energy. It works great for fat burning too and is easily digested.

#3: Insect bite treatment

This is a really great use especially for when you need to bug out somewhere in the wild and you’ll need a treatment for bug bites and also to keep insects off. A mix of coconut oil and peppermint oil reduces the itch and has a soothing effect.

#4: Natural homemade soap

For your bath, face wash and even for your laundry (as a stain pre-treater) you can make your own coconut soap from ingredients such as almond, avocado, castor, lye, olive oils and coconut oil (to fatten the soap and give it shelf stability). Great cleansing and lathering properties and no irritations.

Here are some simple recipes I picked up from Mommypotamus:

Lathering Skin Bar (20% superfat)

Note: Because this soap is highly superfatted it can create a very dense lather when rubbed directly on skin. For a light, bubbly effect I recommend lathering with a natural sponge.

33 oz coconut oil, 76 degree
4.83 ounces lye (NaOH)
12.54 oz water
5 – 1 ounce essential oils (optional)

Laundry Soap (1% superfat)

All amounts are by weight

33 oz coconut oil, 76 degree*
5.9 ounces lye (NaOH)**
12 oz water
5 – 1 ounce essential oils (optional)

#5: Personal hygiene

I am just amazed of the many uses coconut oil has for our personal care. You can use it as an aftershave or as a razor burn treatment, as deodorant (great even used alone but even more efficient in combination with baking soda), hair conditioner, hand cleaner (you can easily remove dirt, paint or wax with coconut oil), mouthwash, ear cleaner, massage oil, you name it…

It’s also way safer than everything you buy from the store, natural and nontoxic, to both humans and animals. And the best part is that a little goes a long way and you don’t need to use large quantities of coconut oil. Keep a small container in the bathroom for topical use, such as 16-ounce, and you’ll see just how long it will last.

#6: Stress relief

This amazing superfood can also help you lower your stress level. Apply it on your head and massage it softly, in a circular motion and you’ll simply feel its soothing effect and how it instantly helps relieving mental fatigue.

#7: Lamps and torches

Coconut oil is great to improvise torches and oil lamp fuel. It’s a cheaper and cleaner alternative to isopropyl alcohol mix (generally used for standard oil lamp fuel), burns without a smell or smoke and is safe to use. This can really come in handy in a survival situation.

Also, check out this chart outlining the recommended daily dosage of coconut oil, to know how it should be consumed. It’s important you know how it can affect you first so don’t go on eating and using lots of coconut oil before doing a little research first.

Keep as well in mind that there are different types of coconut oil and the one to choose is unrefined (meaning virgin coconut oil that comes from fresh coconuts) because it retains the most health-protecting nutritional values.

5 Natural Energy Boosters

images (1)By: Dr. Victor Marchione / Source: Before It’s News

Okay, your energy levels are going to go through some dips. They’ll be times when you don’t want to get out of bed or you just absolutely have to have a nap.

If you’re able to do that and rest your body, great! But many times when we can’t seem to muster energy to do anything, there just isn’t an option to lie down for a power nap.

If you’ve recently noticed that your energy levels are not what you’d like them to be, here are five tips that could help boost your energy levels naturally:

1. Coffee

Caffeine is still a great way to get a boost of energy when you need it. While not a great solution for chronic tiredness (that requires a proper amount of sleep), coffee does get the adrenalin system up and running when the rest of you may feel like sleeping. The trick is to save that cup of coffee for low energy “emergencies,” such as when you need to feel alert while driving. It’s not wise to drink coffee all day long as a kind of energy crutch. Too much coffee—more than three cups a day—can have an adverse effect on your health.

2. Eat Those Fruits and Veggies

Fruits and veggies are good source of energy. Eat a salad with at least three different vegetables (Caesar salad is really just lettuce with lots of fattening dressing and croutons). Better yet, get some mixed greens, spinach, mushrooms, carrots, and broccoli into one salad. You’ll notice an improvement in your energy levels all afternoon.

3. Eat Whole Grains

Don’t rely on breads and baked goods made with processed flours as your main source of carbohydrates. It’s time to benefit from the energy-boosting power of brown rice, whole oats, whole wheat, rye, buckwheat, millet or quinoa. The extra nutrients (not to mention fiber) in whole grains will sustain your energy levels far longer than any carb made with processed wheat flour. For those going gluten-free, stay away from products made entirely from white rice flour—they’re a little better than processed white flour.

4. Drink Filtered or Spring Water

Water is one of the best natural energy boosters out there. The next time your energy is flagging, try this trick: drink a glass of filtered or spring water. Your energy levels should perk up right away. Remember to drink throughout the day. Dehydration is a silent but pervasive reason for fatigue.

5. Go for a Walk

Why would you go for a walk when you’re feeling tired? So much of modern day fatigue is caused by sitting long hours in front of the T.V., at the computer desk, or in the car. Eventually, the body and mind is lulled into a state of sleepiness. Give things a shake up and get outside in the fresh air.

Start walking and you’ll be amazed at how quickly your fatigue starts to drain away. Don’t carry anything heavy and wear comfortable clothing and shoes. You want to be able to relax, clear your mind, move your body, and let go of all the tension you’ve been storing up in your body. Your mind will enjoy a brisk walk just as much as your body. Don’t forget that your mind plays a role in how tired your body feels.
