Fire in the Belly: Manipura Chakra, Turning Power Into Peace

manipuraBy: Christina Sarich / Source: Waking Times

The Famous psychologist, Carl Jung, once said that Manipura chakra is where we burn through our passions and desires in order to become a completely realized individual. This chakra is the third in the system of seven conceptualized by Ayurvedic and yogic doctrines, and is also associated to Tiferet in the kabbalistic understanding of the Tree of Life. In the systems of marital arts, including Qigong, the solar plexus chakra, is also called the personal power chakra.

It is no mistake that the expression, ‘fire in the belly’ relates to the physical location of this energy center since it is like a little sun that radiates pranic energy to the rest of the physical body. Due to the energy of Manipura chakra, the internal organs can function properly, but even more important, perhaps, is the regulation of pranic energy for the development of the psychological and emotional self on the way to realizing one’s full potential.

This midpoint of the psyche is imperative for developing will, and a dynamic approach to achieving the ‘desires’ of this lifetime. One acquires a spiritual perspective through the awakening of this chakra, and with the balancing of the energy of Manipura, we also learn to bypass old karmas (having dealt with them in the first two chakras). Our consciousness can finally move from resolving old issues, to achieving our heart’s desires, and the glorious possibilities of becoming fully human – that is a spiritual being temporarily residing in a case of flesh.

Fascinatingly, Manipura or Tiferet is also considered the position of the Kingdom of Heaven. Many people start to develop the psyche to an extent that they become psychic, unlocking siddhis (special powers) associated with the full blossoming of this energy center. While becoming attached to an advanced level of intuitive powers is a blessing of an awakened Manipura chakra, it can also lead to a stagnation of developing one’s powers, since money, sex, and power start to come easily to a person with a developed ‘fire in their belly’.

The power center is an important blueprint for the creation of peace, generosity and balance instead of the way many people understand power – as a means to develop purely self-gratifying skills or things like sex, money, social popularity via fame, etc.

If you feel like you can’t express yourself completely, or do what you truly want to do in life, then this is a sign that your Manipura chakra is weak or blocked. If you feel others have control over your destiny, or are lethargic and depressed, this is another sign that Manipura chakra could use some attention. The subtle energies coursing through our bodies are what really create physical existence. They basically write the script of your life. If you want to be more of Caesar than a Fool, then you need to awaken your solar plexus energy. It is then up to you to use this power for realized actions instead of selfish ones.

As you work through the desires of the central energy point, you encourage energy to rise even further up into Anahata or the heart center, and eventually through to Sahasrara, which is actually not really a chakra at all, but the power with which all other chakras are switched on. All our full potential lies in the opening of Sahasrara, or the crown chakra. Until we have burned through our personal desires, however, and learned to use our power for good, we cannot progress to the next level of spiritual awakening.

You can open Manipura chakra by:

  • Wearing the colors of fire, like red, yellow, orange and citrine.
  • Listening to frequencies that awaken the Manipura chakra, such as 320 Hz and 528 Hz, which are some of the frequencies, which will help to awaken and balance this energy center.
  • Bathing in the sun for fifteen minutes and absorbing the warmth, concentrating the energy visually in your mind’s eye to the central chakra.
  • Affirm the energies of the Manipura chakra by placing your hands on your own belly and repeating words such as, “I am a powerful creator of peace and balance in the world.” Or “I express my power with peacefulness.”
  • You can dance, concentrating on movements that ‘churn’ the belly. Bend, twist, backbend, etc.
  • Practice yoga asana such as the warrior poses (claim your power!) and
  • Repeat the Ha Kriya from kundalini yoga. This is a series of forceful exhales using the fists to claim power from a seated (lotus) position. Start with the spine erect and the fists at hip-level. Take a deep, yogic inhale, filling up the belly, diaphragm and lungs completely. As you exhale forcefully, say “Ha!” taking your fists up and out at a 45 degree angle to the sky. You can also do this standing, in Tadasana (Mountain Pose). Repeat this several times to awaken the power of your solar plexus.

The 20 Universal Laws

shutterstock_130088795Source: Waking Times

The 20 universal laws cover Karma, reincarnation, vibration, attraction, Soul Evolution and much more. All these laws are covered in Dick Sutphen’s book Lighting the Light Within which was published in 1987. This is an extract from the book.

1. The Universal Law of Harmony

This law supersedes even the fundamental law of Karma, for harmony is the supreme potential of balance. The purpose of Karma is to attain harmony. If you through a rock into a pond you disturb the harmony of the pond, you are the cause, the effect is the splash and the ripples that flows out and back until harmony is restored. Similarly, your disharmonious actions flow out into the Universe and back upon you, lifetime after life time, until eventually your own harmony is restored.

2. The Law of Reincarnation and Karma

Until you have resolved your Karma and fulfilled your Dharma, which are the deeds you must do, you will continue to reincarnate into sequential lifetime upon the earth. Neither God nor the Lords of Karma bestow suffering upon you during these lives, you and you alone decide what you most need to learn and in your earthly sojourns, and for each life experience you seek out other souls, often with shared histories, and always with Karmic configurations matching your needs.

Whenever you act with intention you create Karma. Actions are considered to be thoughts, emotions, words and deeds, and the motive, desire and intent behind each. Disharmonious acts must be balanced in the future in this life or in a future lifetime, to have Soul growth.

3. The Universal Law of Wisdom, wisdom erases Karma

If you have the wisdom to learn your lessons through love and wisdom you can mitigate your suffering. Sadly, we seem to learn the fastest through pain, through directly experiencing the consequences of our actions. As an example, you greedily take from others, and instead of learning through wisdom and love that this is wrong, you have to experience from others someone greedily taking from you, whether later in this life or in a future lifetime.

Example: In your last life you were married to a Soul who is your mate today, and whom you cruelly left far another in that previous lifetime. Before you were born into your current life, you agreed to be left by your mate, under similar circumstances this will allow you to balance your KarmaÑand directly experience the pain of abandonment. If through the wisdom of Master-Life-Awareness it is easier to detach consciously from the relationship with love, you will ease the pain of parting while also passing your own test, and thus absolving Karma and evolving from within.

4. The Universal Law of Grace

Karma can be experienced to the letter of the law or in mercy and grace. In other words if you give love, mercy and grace to others, you will receive the same in return.

5. The Universal Law of Soul Evolution

Everyone on Earth shares the goal of Soul evolution whether they realize it or not. We have reincarnated because we desire to evolve spiritually. By rising above all of our fear based emotions and in so doing learning how to express unconditional love we raise our vibrational rate, and move closer to a state of harmony. Even where it appears that we are not evolving we are in reality making progress. We learn through the pain of our disharmonious acts, which can be viewed as our mistakes or failures. This is the law of Soul evolution.

6. The Universal Law of Bodhisattva

Bodhisattva is a Sanskrit term commonly accepted by most Metaphysical adepts today. It means one who has transcended the need of Earthly incarnations but who has chosen to return to the earth to support others in achieving enlightenment. A Bodhisattva knows he will never really be free until all souls are free. Most serious students of metaphysics have entered the Bodhisattva Development Stage of their evolution.

7. The Universal Law of Vibrational Attainment

The entire Universe operates on the same principle of vibrational energy. When Einstein discovered that “matter is energy” he opened the door to merging science and metaphysics. The scientists have proved that energy cannot die, it can only transform (reincarnate), and, by its very nature, energy must go forward or backwards, it cannot stand still, for to do so is stagnation, resulting in transformation.

You are energy. Your skin, which appears solid, is actually trillions of swiftly moving molecules orbiting each other at a specific vibrational rate; a physical life rate you have earned in the past as a result of how harmoniouslyÑor disharmoniously you have lived your past lives and your current life up until this moment in time. When you are harmonious for a lifetime, you will have attained the highest vibrational rateÑthe God level.

8. The Universal Law of Free Will

The law of free will operates in three ways.

1.Although many of the major events in your life are Astrologically predestined, you always have free will to mitigate the impact of the event, or to transcend it entirely. This will result from how you live your life up to the situation you have destined for yourself to experience. If you give grace and mercy to others, are positive, loving, compassionate, and demonstrate by your action that you have learned past lessons, you can minimize disharmonious experiences!

2.As you obtain Master of life awareness and develop conscious detachment, you will be far less affected by worldly events than in the past. A Master of Life enjoys all the warmth and joy that life has to offer, but detaches from the negativity by allowing it to flow through him without affecting him.

3.You always have free will in how you respond to any situation. If you respond with positive emotions, compassion and integrity, you have probably learned your karmic lessons and will not have to experience a similar situation in the future.

9. The Law of One

Every Soul, living and discarnate, is connected at the level of the collective unconscious, deep within the Higher-Self. We are all part of a great energy gestalt called God, and because we are part of God, we are God. It is the goal of the gestalt to move the energy forward, creating more energy. So, in living harmoniously, we each increase our vibrational rate and intensify the vibration of the entire gestalt. When we are disharmonious, we decrease the vibration of the entire gestalt, because we are one, everything you think, say and do, affects every other Soul.

10. The Universal Law of Manifestation

Everything manifest begins as a thought, an idea. Ideas and experiences create beliefs which in turn, create your reality. If you are unhappy with your current reality, you must change your beliefs and your behavior. Beliefs can be changed when you recognize those that are not working for you, and begin programming what will create success and harmony in your life. The unlimited creative power of your mind, through dedication, awareness and training, can be the wisdom to rise above your Karma.

Within physical and spiritual laws, you can manifest any reality you desire to experience. In regard to changing your behavior, you must decide which disharmonious behavior you want to eliminate. Then be aware that you don’t have to change how you feel about something to affect it, if you are willing to change what you are doing.

11. The Universal Law of Conscious Detachment

Buddha’s earthly teachings are best summarized with one of his statements, “It is your resistance to what is that causes your suffering.” and by suffering, he meant everything that doesn’t work in your life; relationship problems, loss of loved ones, loneliness, sickness, accidents, guilt, monetary hardship, unfulfilled desires, and so on. When you accept what is, you accept the unalterable realities in your life without resisting them.

Some things are facts. They exist, and no matter how much you resist them, there is nothing you are going to be able to do about them. Change what you can change, but have the wisdom to accept unalterable situations as they are, without wasting mental or physical energy attempting to change what you cannot change. Out of acceptance comes involved detachment. The ability to enjoy all the positive aspects of life, but to allow the negative to flow through you with out resistance and without affecting you.

12. The Universal Law of Gratitude

From the perspective of Karma and the Law of One, the more you give, the more you will receive. The more you assist others, the more you will assist yourself. The power of this Law also works in your day-to-day life.

13. The Universal Law of Fellowship

When two or more people of similar vibration are gathered for a shared purpose, their combined energy directed to the attainment of that purpose is doubled, tripled, quadrupled or more. This esoteric awareness has been used by covens, esoteric religions, healing groups, and recently, worldwide meditations for world peace.

14.The Universal Law of Resistance

That which you resist you draw to you, and you will perpetuate its influence upon your life. Resistance is fear, so it is something you need to Karmically resolve. The Law of Resistance assures that you let go of the fear by encountering it until you are forced to deal with it by learning conscious detachment.

15. The Law of Attraction

“Where your attention goes, your energy flows.” You attract what you are and that which you concentrate upon. If you are negative, you draw in and experience negativity. If you are loving, you draw in and experience love. You can attract to you only those qualities you possess. So, if you want peace and harmony in your life, you must become peaceful and harmonious.

16. The Universal Law of Reflection

This Law says that the traits you respond to in others, you recognize in yourself, both positive and negative. It has four primary manifestations:

1.That which you admire in others, you recognize as existing within yourself;
2.That which you resist and react to strongly in others is sure to be found within yourself;
3.That which you resist and react to in others is something which you are afraid exists within you; and,
4.That which you resist in yourself, you will dislike in others.

In other words, you have chosen to incarnate upon the manifest plane to learn to rise above the effect of fear. Those fears will always be reflected in your reactions to others, Thus your goals are very obvious once you recognize how to perceive them. As you let go of the fear, you automatically open to expressing more unconditional love.

17. The Universal Law of Unconditional Love

The expression of unconditional love will eventually result in harmony. Unconditional love is not romantic love. It is the acceptance of others as they are without judgment or expectations. It is total acceptance of others without attempting to change them, except by our own positive example. The law of unconditional love says, “If you go out of your way to express unconditional love, you automatically rise above fear, and, as you transcend your fears, you automatically open to the expression of unconditional love.

18. The Universal Law of Magnetic Affinities

By Astrologically choosing the time and place of your birth, you determine the nature or the effects you will experience in your life. On the other side, before we are born, we make decisions about the lifetime we will be entering into. You chose your parents, other souls to interact with you, and the Astrological configurations of your birth which determine your character, personality, abilities, restrictions, and timing for strengths and weaknesses.

If all of this seems too complicated to be real, be aware that you are only using five to ten percent of the capacity of your brain. And the brain-mind researchers say the human brain has 200,000 times the capacity of the greatest computer ever built. Such calculations as I’ve just described would be no problem for such a computer.

19. The Universal Law of Abundance

You have within yourself everything required to make your earthly incarnation a paradise if you choose to accept that which is your divine birth-right. We live in a Universe of abundance, although the majority of those populating our planet appear to view it as a Universe of scarcity.

20. The Universal Law of Divine Order

If you seek to understand the Law of Divine Order, study the natural balance of nature, for it works very much the same way. Everything is as it should be, although mankind (our energy gestalt) is far from experiencing its potential of total harmony. There are no accidents. Your energy, translated into thoughts, words, emotions, and deeds, causes all your experiences.

This assures that you always have the learning opportunities you require to resolve your Karma, and, as with you, the collective thoughts, words, emotions, and deeds of mankind create the environment for us all. If enough souls focus their energy upon peace, we will have peace. If the majority of souls are filled with anger, we may all have to experience war. We are all one, and like the many sub-personalities within you, the dominant traits of mankind (the entire gestalt) will emerge to resolve our group Karma.

How To Find Your Lucky Numbers?

By: Tara Pierce / Source: Astro Star

Whether you’re a pro at poker, a connoisseur at craps or a rookie at roulette, you can improve your odds of winning if you know which numbers are in your favor. You may improve your luck quotient without studying heaps of “How To Win At…” books. The following simple system was used by the ancient Egyptians to prop up waning mental telepathy; and it doesn’t take long to learn. In these modern times, we can still use yesteryear’s secrets to augment our gambling techniques. And for those games that don’t require considerable skill to win, like the slot machines and Keno, maybe your lucky numbers will be just that for you — lucky. The best part is that you don’t have to be a computer wizard to figure it all out. Once you know your birthday number, you’ll never forget it because it is your number for life. And the benefits of a few minutes of math additions may get you to the pot of the gambling rainbow quicker than the other guy. Special! 93% of Lotto Winners Do This Before Buying the Ticket

Here’s How It Works

Add the month, day and year of your birthday together like this example: June 12, 1942. 1) June is the 6th month of the year. 2) Add compound numbers like the 12 day together (1+2) to get a single digit: 3. 3) Then add your year’s numbers 1+9+4+2 = 16. Reduce the 16 (1+6) to get a single digit: 7. 4) Then add your month (6), day (3), year (7) subtotals. You’ll get 16. Reduce again to a single digit (1+6) to get 7. 5) This person’s Life path and Lucky Number is 7. Always reduce to a single digit unless your compound number is an 11. You would then use the 11 instead of reducing to the 2. Alert! Secrets of Lucky People

How To Use Your Lucky Number

If you are a seven like the sample above, then go where the “seven” casinos are. Add their addresses to see what potential awaits you. 3921 Nobucks Street is a 6 place (3+9+2+1 = 15 = 6) All that glitters here is gold only for the guy who is born under a 6. To make matters worse for a 7, that address doesn’t even contain a seven. Keep searching until you find your lucky seven place. Add those addresses. When you’ve found a “seven” brick and mortar casino or online casino, let your creativity have free reign. Go to tables numbered seven. Slot machines have numbers; it takes only a few seconds to add up those numbers. Remember to reduce to a single digit. On Keno use multiples of seven; 49 is a good number for a seven because it’s seven times seven. If you can afford it, stay with your “seven” table or with your slot machine seven tries before you give up. You’ll obviously be moving around more if you happen to be a two. Use your lucky number for dates too. Can you think of a more auspicious time to have gambled than on July 7, 1991 at 7 a.m., if you’re a seven? Keep in mind that your number is good for you, better and luckier than any other digit could ever be over the long haul of a lifetime. That number has had an affinity with you from birth. Give it a chance to work for you. Have faith in its power. It’s the easiest and most natural way to have luck on your side Related Resources:

The 3 Pillars of Your Numerology Chart

3-spheres-380x235By: Hans Decoz / Source: Tarot

Numerology’s first and foremost purpose is to gain a better understanding of who you are, what you are made of, and what the future might hold for you. “Know thyself” is as relevant a statement today as it was when Plato used it 2,500 years ago.

The challenge with the use of Numerology, at least as I have understood it since I became interested in this age-old science more than 40 years ago, is to differentiate where a number in your chart applies, and how exactly it affects you. When you look at your chart you notice that while you have 4 or 5 core numbers, plus a wide range of other numbers that play a role, and this creates something akin to alphabet soup — or rather numerical soup — a sloppy mixture that contains a little bit of just about anything that could apply to just about anyone.

This can be confusing, and I have tried to combat that by using introductions that describe as specific as possible the importance of each number’s location in a chart, then explaining that number’s influence with direct references to that particular aspect of your personality. If you have a 5 among your core numbers and another person does too, but that person’s 5 appears in a different location — Heart’s Desire versus Personality or Expression for instance — the description of that 5s influence in your numerology profile is entirely different. This is, of course, as it should be.

However, I still find that many people have trouble relating to their personal charts in a truly effective, beneficial way. When I do a personal Numerology chart, whether by computer or face-to-face, I aim for clarity. Clarity is the most important condition, but unfortunately it is also the most elusive. The truth is, clarity is what you find at the end of the road to self-examination, not at the beginning.

And so, in my continuing attempt to improve the tools and methods at my disposal, I have come to recognize that part of the problem actually lies at the very beginning of the process of delineating a Numerology chart.

Two become three

Traditionally, numerologists, including yours truly, have always been mindful of the two different sides of your personal Numerology chart: your Personality Profile and your Future Forecast.

I have not been comfortable with that for a number of years, as I became more and more convinced that in order to have a clear understanding of your personal makeup and the path you are on, it would be considerably more insightful to look at your chart from three different angles, because that’s essentially how you exist: you, your life’s path, and your future.

Think of those three aspects as the pillars of your existence. Learn which numbers represent each of these three parts of your life with a completely personalized Numerology Personality Profile.

youThe first pillar: you

First, there is you, the individual, with your talents, abilities, personality traits, idiosyncrasies, dreams, hopes, likes and dislikes, and what have you. All of which is revealed in your name. Your full name at birth truly is like a blueprint of who you are; the unique and fully self-contained individual who lives inside your skin. The logic behind that is easy to see.

After all, when you introduce yourself you say: “I am so-and-so,” thereby truthfully stating who you are (and revealing much more than you probably intended). Even when you use a shorter version of your name, or a nickname, the same applies, slightly adjusted to reveal a somewhat different view of you, perhaps even a little distorted, but still you.

When your Numerology chart talks about the core numbers that are derived from your name, or the arrangement of letters that make up your name, or the numbers missing in your name, or those that are present in abundance — any time the information comes from your name — you have to read and understand it as such: it’s you. Not your future, not the direction of your life, nothing but you, the individual.

images (3)The second pillar: your path

Secondly, is your path — the direction in which your life wants to move. This is not your future forecast, nor is it your “destiny.” It is truly a path, and since there is no point of arrival where you could say, “I have fulfilled my destiny and therefore my life is completed,” the words destiny or goal do not apply.

They are misnomers and therefore confusing. It’s a path, and in Numerology it is quite aptly named your Life Path. This is the most important number in your chart because, in a way, you could call it your purpose. And no, the words destiny and goal are not synonymous with purpose. (I consider it your “small” purpose, as opposed to your “large” purpose which I believe to be reaching enlightenment or self-realization. As you can see, I believe in aiming high.)

This Life Path number is derived from your date of birth. It signifies the window in time through which you came to be in a human form, to live a number of years, until you come to another window through which you step out of this life leaving your human form to return to dust. That, at least, is the way I see it. But rest assured, by no means do I see it as my job to convince you that my vision is true.

(Related: How To Manifest With Numerology? (the hidden power of numbers!)

What I do want you to understand is that Numerology, if interpreted properly, views your Life Path as indicative of the direction and the evolutionary progress you are meant to follow. It’s a cycle, it changes and it’s dynamic, not stable and stagnant. The attributes belonging to whatever number your Life Path happens to be, are not inert but active. And they were given to you because you need them in order to progress along your life’s path. If you consider this versus my explanation of how the numbers in your name affect you, you will realize that their influence is very different.

Let me give you an example. I have both a 16/7 Life Path and a 16/7 Personality. The 16/7 Life Path, derived from my date of birth, reveals my path to be one of spiritual growth, driven by intellectual curiosity, a search for knowledge, for understanding. Not about just anything, but specifically about life and death and the mystery of it all.

This is, and has always been, the main ingredient of my life, so I guess Numerology’s description of my Life Path number is accurate. But how about that 16/7 Personality? Wouldn’t that pretty much give me the same attributes? Well, yes and no. The 16/7 Personality gave me those same traits, but packaged and delivered quite differently. My external presence, now mostly outgrown thank you very much, was that of a geeky introvert bookworm.

A quiet intellectual hiding behind Coke bottle lenses and feeling uncomfortable and out of place pretty much anywhere. These traits are typical to a 16/7 Personality, but not a 16/7 Life Path. Had my Personality been a 3, I would still have been the spiritual dreamer and seeker I am, due to my 16/7 Life Path, but my Personality would have been much more social, fun loving, comfortable with others, expressive, and so forth. By the same token, a 16/7 Personality doesn’t necessarily set someone on a path to seek spiritual growth, but it will definitely make that person look the part: geeky, quiet, bookish, etc.

futureThe third pillar: your future

Finally, there is the third pillar: your future forecast. Here too, the numbers are based on your date of birth, because they were set in motion by your birth. The moment you stepped onto your path, the cycles kicked in and started influencing you as time went by. This is another undeniably beautiful piece of logic behind the science of Numerology. Like the gears of the universe clicking into gears set in motion by your own birth, everything works together, and if you look closely — as Numerology does — you can recognize the synchronicity and, to some extent, predict future influences and events.

Three sides of a single, amazing story: you, your path, and your future.

Absorbing it all

When you read your Numerology report carefully, paying attention to where each number affects you, the amount of insight you can gain, and the things you can learn about yourself are truly mind boggling.

My reports are extensive. By far the most complete available anywhere, because in my work I’m a fanatic who is never pleased for long. If you get one of my reports, which can easily run into a few dozen pages, you might read it in one sitting and conclude that it is nice, or accurate, or not so nice, or confusing, or fitting anyone, or not you at all, or you to a T.

But the real value is in reading it again, slowly, one aspect at a time, not moving on to the next one until you have contemplated what you just read. I don’t produce junk food. It wasn’t meant to be swallowed quickly and get you back into the rat race. I worked on my programs for many years, writing text files, improving them, adding more, replacing others.

You might say that I have been working on your report since 1984, and today, in 2012, I am in the process of overhauling and improving them still — a new approach, a new vision. Because I hope to find ways to make things just a little more clear, a little more applicable, a little more revealing, for as long as I can. It’s all part and parcel of my 16/7 Life Path — well, no, I would actually consider my love for Numerology more typical a result of my 16/7 Personality than my Life Path.

My desire to reach self-realization and enlightenment, now that’s where my 16/7 Life Path comes in. I didn’t say the 16/7 is a practical realist, did I?
